Firework Weekend?

Hi Folks.

So how are you and your pets surviving what is now Firework Weekend?

I am sure when I was a child it was Bonfire Night and it never went through the whole weekend or even week in some cases. Maybe this had something to do with the fact that people could not afford fireworks like they do today and they were not readily available either. Like many pets and wildlife, Paddy and Marmite are not firework lovers. Paddy does not like bangs of any kind, so he gets very restless. Marmite tends to go off and hide. Last night the fireworks began early in the distance, then at around 7.30pm some went off near the boat, which sent Paddy diving for cover between our chairs. Paddy actually handled the whole thing pretty well and soon settled down in his bed, but you could see by the look on his face he was not happy. We have friends who have to sedate their dogs over the firework period, because they get so distressed. Thankfully Paddy is not that bad. When we lived in Felixstowe it was firework night every night, or that is how it seemed because they were always going off. I do hope you have a lovely bonfire night tonight.
