Stoppages and Restrictions this Summer.

No one can have failed to have noticed that we have had very little rain and this is now taking a hold on the canals and restrictions.
If you need to find out if there are any restrictions or stoppages please have a look on the Waterscape site.

For instance there are now restrictions on the Grand Union Canal Leicester Line. Customers are advised that navigation between Kilby Lock No 30 and Kings Lock No. 38 is to be restricted to within the hours 0900 hours and 1600 hours each day. This is to conserve water.

Better to check before making a journey.

  1. Hi Jo,
Such a shame that water is so short. We heard yesterday the restrictions on the section of the Leeds Liverpool canal we are curently on have been lifted yesterday. But I doubt it will last long. The crew of a boat ahead of us left paddles open on a flight of Locks we headed for in Blackburn and nearly suceeded in emptying the pound and flooded the British Waterways building there. If only these people would take more care I'm sure the water supplies would last longer.

Glad to read all is well with you both and Hadar. I've enjoyed reading about your trip to Bristol sounded interesting
regards Steve (nbAmyJO) currently on Isla's Drum at Riley Green
